The Image of Japanese Teacher Expected by Students at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology : In recent years, the number of learners of Japanese language has increased in Japan and abroad, and the number of learning institutions and teachers has been increasing. According to the 2018 Japan Foundation survey, the total number of Japanese learners abroad is about 3.85 million and the number of teachers is about 80,000. Of these, native Japanese teachers account for about 20% of the total, and non-native Japanese teachers account for about 80%. In many educational institutions that handle Japanese, native-speaking teachers and non-native-speaking teachers are involved in educational activities. It is desirable to understand the roles of native-speaking teachers and non-native-speaking teachers in collaborative classes, and aim to improve the quality of teachers.
At the JPN of Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, which is also the subject of this survey, Thai teachers and Japanese teachers are in pairs and they are in charge of one class, and alternate classes are conducted. At JPN, Thai teachers and Japanese teachers teach the same content. Therefore, the purpose of this survey is to investigate the expectations of learners for Thai teachers and Japanese teachers, and to clarify what kind of difference there is in those expectations.
In this survey, a questionnaire survey was conducted for students studying JPN101-JPN301. In the questionnaire, I prepared 30 questions for Thai teachers and 27 questions for Japanese students, totaling 57 questions, and divided them int
