COMPARISON OF MOTIVATION, LEARNING BEHAVIORS, AND REASONS FOR JAPANESE LEARNERS IN THAI-NICHI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY : The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences among undergraduates in four
categories. The faculties are Business Administration, Engineering and Information Technology.
The four categories are Category-A) Japanese language classes, B) reasons for studying, C)
learning behaviors, and D) factors that influence motivation to study.
Quantitative methods were used to collect and analyze the data. The data were collected
195 students who study as Business Japanese at Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology. The response
data from the questionnaire was collected and analyzed.
According to the result of the research, the categories with the highest scores were as
follows. Category-A) The current class is beneficial. B) want to travel to Japan. C) study Japanese
by watching animations, movies, dramas, programs, etc. in Japanese. D) be more motivated to
learn when the teacher is kind.
As for the results of the differences among the faculties Category-A) There was no
difference among the faculties. B) There was a difference in three items. C) There was a difference
in one item. D) There was no difference among the faculties.
The last proposal was to establish courses based on the survey results. And suggest setting
up Japanese classes according to students abilities, etc.
