THE GUIDELINE FOR RAPID SOFTWARE GAME DEVELOPMENT ON UNITY WEB-BASED ECOSYSTEM : The rapid growth of content-driven games has created a pressing need for workflows that allow fast flexible and collaborative content development. Traditional approaches, which rely on Unity Editor and server-client architectures often introduce bottlenecks: artists and designers must wait for programmers to implement changes testing is limited to centralized environments, and granting access to source code poses security risks. These limitations hinder rapid iteration and reduce the efficiency of multi-disciplinary teams.
This study proposes a web-based content editing workflow for Unity games that leverages runtime content injection, sandboxed testing environments and collaborative web interfaces. The system enables immediate testing and iteration of art assets narrative sequences and level designs without direct access to the game engine or source code. By integrating JavaScript with Unity Web Target, the workflow allows real time content adjustments while preserving security and asset integrity.
The proposed system was evaluated through quantitative measures, comparing it to traditional CMS-based workflows in terms of ease of use collaboration efficiency and task completion time. Results demonstrate a significant improvement in workflow efficiency reducing both personnel requirements and iteration times. Weighted improvement ratios across different game genres including casual stratege rhythm and MMO showed consistent enhancement in collaborative productivity.
